Currently, Dollar does not operate in Australia.
Although this may be disappointing news if you are a regular Dollar customer, you can still get a great deal on a reliable car hire at the Mackay Airport. Europcar, Avis, Budget, Hertz and Thrifty are all great car hire companies, and they all operate at Mackay Airport.
To give you an idea of the deals you can find on a Mackay Airport car hire, I’ll use VroomVroomVroom.com.au to search for a car hire. Let’s say I’m going to Australia on Tuesday, 11/9, and returning home on Friday, 11/12. All I have to do is enter this information into the Vroom homepage, and then click “Search.”
Within a few seconds, Vroom returns a list of over three dozen deals. If I wanted a car hire with a manual transmission, I could book a Hyundai Getz or similar vehicle for $160. Not only is this the total price for the duration of my trip, but it also includes basic insurance and unlimited driving miles.
However, since I’m going to be driving in an unfamiliar place, I want to get a car hire with an automatic transmission so I don’t have to worry about shifting while I’m driving. For just $189, I can get a Hyundai Getz or similar vehicle with an automatic transmission from Europcar.
While these are just two of the deals that Vroom found for my trip, they should give you an idea of how little you can pay for a Mackay Airport car hire. Best of all, since all these companies have booths directly at the airport, I can pick up my car hire as soon as I arrive in Australia.
